Homotopical perspective on statistical quantities

چکیده

We introduce the notion of cumulants as applied to linear maps between associative (or commutative) algebras that are not compatible with algebraic product structure. These have a close relationship $$A_{\infty }$$ and $$C_{\infty morphisms, which classical homotopical tools for analyzing deformations algebraically maps. look at these two different perspectives understand how infinity-morphisms might inform our understanding cumulants. show in presence an or morphism, relevant strongly homotopic zero.

Fluctuations of Intensive Quantities in Statistical Thermodynamics

In phenomenological thermodynamics, the canonical coordinates of a physical system split in pairs, with each pair consisting of an extensive quantity and an intensive one. In the present paper, the quasithermodynamic fluctuation theory of a model system of a large number of oscillators is extended to statistical thermodynamics based on the idea of perceiving the fluctuations of intensive variab...

A Statistical Perspective on KDD

The quest to find models usefully characterizing data is a process central to the scientific method and has been carried out on many fronts. Researchers from an expanding number of fields have designed algorithms to discover rules or equations that capture key relationships between variables in a database. Some modern heuristic modeling approaches seem to have gained in popularity partly as a w...

Homotopical intersection theory I

We give a new approach to intersection theory. Our “cycles” are closed manifolds mapping into compact manifolds and our “intersections” are elements of a homotopy group of a certain Thom space. The results are then applied in various contexts, including fixed point, linking and disjunction problems. Our main theorems resemble those of Hatcher and Quinn [H-Q], but our proofs are fundamentally di...
